The World has nearly been Transformed

You know because you are reading this.

Over the last 35 years Steve Jobs and more recently in partnership with Tim Cook and Jonathan Ive ( another bit of symbiosis ) have transformed the world as we know it.

They have imagined, designed and produced for the world market, the personal computer and personal mobile gadgets including smart phones. And they have created a new business model, in that they are able to produce the highest quality at the lowest cost. This is achieved on the back of smart design, model range, smart supply chain and now vast economies of scale. Conventionally quality and cost were strategic alternatives for competitors to serve different markets. Apple achieve both and are potentially unbeatable. They price near competitors' costs and Apple's profit is their cost advantage - it is vast.

When recently in a patent dispute, Samsung's defence for copying was the Apple way was the only way. Before them, other giants like IBM and HP have thrown in the towel and left the PC market.

And so it is at an affordable price I can write my blog with photographs on this iPad gadget and which at other times I can have a video call to home at no marginal cost to me. Millions elsewhere are doing similar things.

Often I start with photos using a modest camera that probably has more grunt than the computers that took the 1st spacecraft to the moon, and now with new yellow pod stabiliser (a bean bag).

All of this is merely an introduction to an apology.

The production of the blog requires photo management and editing apps (3 or 4), a diary / journal writing app, and a blog production and uploading app, viz Blogsy. Whilst the status of the iPad is sweeping the world, it and its world of apps do have their limitations and so I return to Blogsy. Whilst it is good I have not figured a way to reliably get a WYSIWYG layout of the photos on the blog.

So bear with me (all 6 of you) on the layout because I am not going to sweat on it too much at the moment. This sweeping and gesturing of fingers is cool but sometimes my carefully placed photos suddenly like magic get swept completely away. WTF!
